The primary benefit of email automation based on templates is that it’s easy to use and if you are not a beginner in email marketing, then it saves a ton of time that you would have rather spent on figuring it.

Setup brand (important prerequisite)

Now, while using our email automation templates is a straightforward feature, but the prerequisite here is to set up your brand on EmailOctopus dashboard first. This data is used by the system to customise the email template designs based on your brand design guidelines.

Email automation templates use-cases

Our template-based automation feature can be used in many areas, such as by doctors, trainers, e-commerce businesses and many more. Let go through some examples to see how it can be used in various scenarios.

Landing page freebie automation

One of the best ways to get people to subscribe to your email list is by giving them a freebie, which in marketing terms is called a lead magnet.

When a visitor signs up for your newsletter on a landing page, you can automatically send them a free gift, like an e-book or a discount code, to boost engagement and build a good relationship right away.

Email automation templates make this setup fast and easy.

Here’s how you can set this up.

Prerequisite: Before setting up this automation, you need a delivery/hosting system for your freebie. If it’s a digital download, then use something like Google Drive or host it on your website and get a downloadable link.

To set up a landing page freebie automation, simply go to our automation creation page and click on the tab that says, “Landing page freebie”.

Next, you need to select the list where the email of your primary subscribers are and continue. After that, you’ll go to the automation builder page. Here, the template will be ready for you to edit. Just make the changes you need, and your automation will be ready.

Automated birthday greetings

For businesses that need a strong client relationship, such as resorts or restaurants, it’s important to wish customers on special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries. This builds healthy relationships and opens up ways to market your own product.

For example, if you are a restaurant owner, then you can simply set up an automation to wish your customers on their birthday and give them a special discount to encourage them to celebrate their day at your restaurant. Here’s how you can set this up.

Prerequisite: Before setting up this automation, you need to ensure that you have added the birthday dates of all the subscribers/customers in your email list.

To set up a landing page freebie automation, simply go to our automation creation page and click on the tab that says, “Birthday celebration”.

Next, you need to select the list where the emails of your primary subscribers are and continue. After that, you’ll go to the automation builder page. Just like the above example, you’ll have to edit the template here, too, and will have to perform an additional step, which is to change the default trigger date field to the custom date field in your contact list.

Automated welcome email

If you happen to have a newsletter, then a welcome is email is important for making a good first impression.

With our simple email automation template, you can easily create a welcome email or a series that introduces new subscribers to your brand, highlights the benefits of your products or services, and encourages them to take the next step, such as completing their profile or following you on social media.
